ASE Employed techs badge

Here at Brad Bearden Automotive, we employ ASE Certified Technicians.  The National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence was founded in 1972 and is dedicated to improving the quality of vehicle repair and services for mechanics across the USA through training and support programs.

Our shop technicians are trained to service and maintain all brands and models of vehicles and getting your car fixed isn't as simple or straightforward as it used to be.  Advances in technology make cars and trucks more complex to repair than ever before and the diagnostics are also more in-depth with frequent changes.  Most vehicles are equipped to connect with our smartphones to entertain us and make it easier than ever to navigate the world.  While these conveniences are welcome, it's also making it harder than ever to make sure your car is fixed properly which is why here at Brad Bearden Automotive we are committed to continuing education to ensure we are able to quickly diagnose your vehicle's issues.

At Brad Bearden Automotive in Albertville, we employ ASE certified technicians and ensure they keep up with all changes and up-to-date with the most current knowledge and practices.  ASE certified technicians are fully trained and certified with at least two years of automotive experience in the field, holding a degree from a reputable automotive school. For Brad Bearden Automotive, this means peace of mind in knowing our technicians are experts in their field.

As a customer, you can make educated decisions about where to take your vehicle for optimal results, and at Brad Bearden Automotive in Albertville we hope our dedication to having a quality team is one of the many reasons you will choose to visit our shop!   Call or come see us today, for any of your automotive needs.

Below are some common Questions and Answers we hear about the TransGo product that we thought would be great information for you.

What's the difference between a Shift Kit® and a Reprogramming Kit ™? TransGo Shift Kit® branded products are designed to reduce/prevent/correct complaints such as "shift irregularities or durability issues". Shift Kit's® are perfect for normal use or towing. Shift Kit's® does NOT produce performance type shifts. TransGo Reprogramming Kit™ branded products are designed with performance in mind and most but not all models contain additional features like Gear Command that allows you to hold manual low to any speed and shift back to low at any speed. Great for strip cars or 4x4 rock crawlers needing to select low and not have it up-shift. Most Reprogramming Kit™ products can be tuned for HD (Heavy Duty) use by following the recommendations in the kit.

If you desire full manual control, we offer Stick Shift versions for most models that provide no automatic up-shifts, in a forward pattern only, available under the Reprogramming Kit™ brand. So if you're looking to retain shift comfort but want added durability use the Shift Kit® branded products. For performance shifts without sacrificing durability use our Reprogramming Kit™ branded products.

NOTE: Shift feels also depends on many factors such as vehicle weight, tire diameter, differential ratio, engine torque, and converter stall speed.

Will a TransGo® Shift Kit® or a Reprogramming Kit™ have any effect on a vehicle's computer commanded controls?

NO, TransGo Shift Kit's®, and Reprogramming Kit's™ make zero changes to your vehicle's PCM/TCM programming.

Will a TransGo® Shift Kit® or a Reprogramming Kit™ make a transmission shift hard all the time?

NO, TransGo Shift Kit's®, and Reprogramming Kit's™ have a progressive shift feel. Progressive, meaning the shift becomes firmer to throttle. NOTE: Shift feels also depends on many factors such as vehicle weight, tire diameter, differential ratio, engine torque, and converter stall speed. Talk to one of our expert transmission technicians at Brad Bearden Automotive in Albertville about your special transmission needs and we can see just what your solution needs to be to keep it reliable and upgrade the functionality for you for years to come.
